The problem
The easiest supplier to call wins the order
This is a rewards program for building suppliers, built as contractor incentives you control. In lumber and building materials, the company pays, but a contractor or a purchasing agent chooses the supplier. Consumer loyalty programs reward the payer. ToolSwift Rewards reward the person who decides, and you control which one.
Orders cost staff time
Counter and phone orders tie up your people on every call.
Customers call whoever is easiest
Without a reason to self-serve, they default to the quickest phone call.
Net-30 means waiting
You collect weeks after the sale.
Card fees on every sale
Interchange comes off every card transaction.

Points only on app and portal orders
Counter and phone orders earn nothing. That is the point: it is the incentive to self-serve, and it moves orders off your counter and your phones.
- Customers can still order in the app and collect in store.
- Fewer calls and counter orders for your team to key in.

Rewards
Reward the decision-maker
Points can pool to the company, or go to individual users. You choose who earns and who can redeem, so the reward reaches the contractor or purchasing agent who picks the supplier.
- An employee can earn on company spend, if you choose.
- Separate permissions to earn and to redeem.

Program terms
A starting point for your program terms
You run the program, so your customers need to see its rules. Here is a template you can adapt: points never cash out, refunds reverse points, and you decide on expiry and changes.
Show the template+
[Your business] Rewards: Program terms 1. Who can join. The program is open to [customer types, for example business accounts and their authorized users] with an account with [Your business]. 2. How you earn. You earn points on eligible orders placed in our app or customer portal, at the rates and under the conditions we publish. Orders placed at the counter or by phone do not earn points. We may offer extra points on selected items, categories or brands for a limited time. Earning may depend on the payment method, how quickly an invoice is paid, the order value and other conditions we publish, and may be limited per order, per customer or per campaign. 3. Who earns. Points are earned by the account or by individual users, as we set for your account. 4. Redeeming points. Points can be redeemed only as we describe in the program, for [what points can be redeemed for]. Points have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be sold or transferred. 5. Refunds and returns. If an order is refunded or returned, the points earned on it are reversed in proportion to the amount refunded. 6. Adjustments. We may correct errors. Corrections are recorded as adjustments with a reason. 7. Expiry. [Points expire after [period] / Points do not expire.] We will warn you before points expire. 8. Misuse. We may withhold, cancel or reverse points and may remove an account from the program if we reasonably believe points were earned or used through fraud, abuse or breach of these terms. 9. Changes and ending the program. We may change the program or end it at any time. If we end it, we will give you [a redemption window / notice], and points not redeemed in that time are forfeited. 10. Questions. Contact [contact details].

Common questions
Is this a rewards program for building suppliers?
Yes. Rewards are built for lumber yards, hardware stores and other building suppliers as contractor incentives that you control, with points aimed at the person who chooses where to buy rather than a consumer-style loyalty scheme.
What happens on a refund?
Points reverse proportionally to the amount refunded.
Can an employee earn on company spend?
Yes, if you choose. That is the whole point in B2B: the person who picks the supplier is often not the person who pays.
Is this a liability?
Outstanding points are tracked and reported, with a liability report for your accountant. Points are never redeemable for cash.
Can we turn it off?
Yes, with a forfeit or a redemption window.
Do points work across our locations?
Yes, within your business.
